| Constat
is the ESD (Electro-Static Discharge) version
of Ecotile Standard. Constat can be used on its
own to provide an anti-static surface or with
a grounding kit where a conductive floor is required.
Constat has been tested to BS EN 1081 - (Resilient
floor coverings, determination of the electrical
resistance) and the surface resistance of the
tiles falls between 3.0 x 104 ohm and 3.4 x 105
ohm.
The contact resistance falls between 3.6 x 105
ohm and 9.5 x105 ohm. The test results meet with
the requirements of BS EN 61340 for floor coverings
that are to be used as a primary ground.
Constat is a 7mm thick interlocking tile that
is available in light grey with an embossed surface
texture. The tiles can be dry laid over any hard
surface making it very quick and easy to install,
providing an instant hardwearing, attractive ESD
floor that can be used immediately.
Constat is manufactured using an injection-moulding
process during which thousands of tiny metal fibres
are added to the PVC. This method ensures that
the fibres are evenly distributed right the way
through each tile guaranteeing the permanent ESD
performance of the tile.
This means Constat is an extremely low maintenance
ESD flooring in comparison with many alternatives
available on the market today.
Constat is also the most versatile ESD flooring
available because it can be used in conjunction
with an ordinary Ecotile floor. If an ESD floor
is only required at workstations for example the
Constat ESD tiles can be inserted into the Ecotile
floor at those points. This is an extremely cost-effective
and efficient use of the interlocking tile system
as you only use the anti-static tiles where you
need them.
